News & Events

  Dear customer,

We hope that you are all having a great holiday season. We are looking forward to the New Year and all the exiting events coming in 2007. Many new projects are continuing to break ground along the Northern Baja Coast. These vacation resorts, hi-rise condominiums, single-family homes, restaurants, museums, and other tourism related projects are continuing the monumental boom in Baja’s economy and real estate market. It’s a great time to be in Ensenada, Baja’s epicenter of activities, culture, and events. The following are a few of the new projects in Ensenada and the Baja Coast. Have a safe and prosperous New Year! See you soon in Baja.

New Convention Center – Under Construction! Construction has begun on the new $14 million master planed convention center project just one-half block from the resort. The first $4 million dollar phase is well under way and scheduled to be completed in late 2007. This project is slated to be a first class convention center and meeting facility and expected to generate a substantial increase in business class travel to the area. Currently being called the “Manzana 8” convention project, it will work in conjunction with its neighboring convention center and museum, The Riviera del Pacifico.

Punta Colonet Port The approvals for a Mega Port, to be constructed an hour south of Ensenada, are well underway. This cargo port will be the size of Long Beach and Los Angeles Ports combined, making it one of the largest container ports in the world. The added housing, transportation systems, and infrastructure will tremendously impact the Northern Baja’s economy. This will also move all the commercial traffic in the Ensenada Port to the south, thus allowing cruise ship, tourism, and private yacht and charter vesicle traffic to double for the Ensenada Port.

Trump Ocean Resort Envy him or despise him, there is one thing that is certain, the Trump name is synonymous with success. Many would argue that this fact is not due to Donald Trump being the most savvy business man in the world, but rather that he is meticulous about putting his name in the right place, with the right people, at the right time, where success and fame was inevitable. The latest place that he has chosen is Baja, Mexico. Recognizing the unprecedented development and investment potential along the Rosarito-Ensenada corridor, world renown companies throughout the resort and hospitality industry are coming to Baja.

New Marina & Blvd Extension Just to the south of the Costa Baja, the new Boulevard extension is nearly complete. The road will give pedestrians direct access to the sandy beach and new marina that is under construction. The Boulevard extension is part of a master plan that will continue Blvd Costero along 4 miles of beachfront property. The new marina has been under construction for nearly a year and will be completed in 2007.

Aquatic Museum The site work has begun one block north of the Costa Baja on a 40,000 ft2 Aquatic Museum. This new project will celebrate the rich history between Ensenada and the many maritime related businesses and activities that have taken place over the past century. The buildings modern architecture will be like nothing else in the Baja, resembling an ocean wave breaking over a floor-to-ceiling tinted glass entrance. This is one of many Ensenada area projects that are being fully supported by the local, state, and federal governments to further support and increase tourism to the area.
